What Islam really says about women | Alaa Murabit

What Islam really says about women | Alaa Murabit

So on my way here, the passenger next to me and I
had a very interesting conversation during my flight. He told me, “It seems like
the United States has run out of jobs, because they’re just making some up: cat psychologist, dog whisperer,
tornado chaser.” A couple of seconds later, he asked me, “So what do you do?” And I was like, “Peacebuilder?” (Laughter) Every day, I work to amplify
the voices of women and to highlight their experiences and their participation in peace
processes and conflict resolution, and because of my work, I recognize that the only way to ensure
the full participation of women globally is by reclaiming religion. Now, this matter is vitally
important to me. As a young Muslim woman,
I am very proud of my faith. It gives me the strength and conviction
to do my work every day. It’s the reason I can be here
in front of you. But I can’t overlook the damage that has
been done in the name of religion, not just my own, but all
of the world’s major faiths. The misrepresentation and misuse
and manipulation of religious scripture has influenced our social
and cultural norms, our laws, our daily lives, to a point where we sometimes
don’t recognize it. My parents moved from Libya,
North Africa, to Canada in the early 1980s, and I am the middle child of 11 children. Yes, 11. But growing up, I saw my parents, both religiously devout
and spiritual people, pray and praise God for their blessings, namely me of course, but among others.
(Laughter) They were kind and funny and patient, limitlessly patient, the kind of patience
that having 11 kids forces you to have. And they were fair. I was never subjected to religion
through a cultural lens. I was treated the same, the same was expected of me. I was never taught that God
judged differently based on gender. And my parents’ understanding of God
as a merciful and beneficial friend and provider shaped the way
I looked at the world. Now, of course, my upbringing
had additional benefits. Being one of 11 children is Diplomacy 101.
(Laughter) To this day, I am asked
where I went to school, like, “Did you go to
Kennedy School of Government?” and I look at them and I’m like, “No, I went to the Murabit School
of International Affairs.” It’s extremely exclusive. You would have
to talk to my mom to get in. Lucky for you, she’s here. But being one of 11 children
and having 10 siblings teaches you a lot about
power structures and alliances. It teaches you focus; you have
to talk fast or say less, because you will always get cut off. It teaches you the importance
of messaging. You have to ask questions in the right way
to get the answers you know you want, and you have to say no
in the right way to keep the peace. But the most important lesson
I learned growing up was the importance of being at the table. When my mom’s favorite lamp broke,
I had to be there when she was trying to find out how and by who,
because I had to defend myself, because if you’re not,
then the finger is pointed at you, and before you know it,
you will be grounded. I am not speaking
from experience, of course. When I was 15 in 2005,
I completed high school and I moved from Canada — Saskatoon — to Zawiya, my parents’ hometown in Libya, a very traditional city. Mind you, I had only ever been
to Libya before on vacation, and as a seven-year-old girl,
it was magic. It was ice cream and trips to the beach
and really excited relatives. Turns out it’s not the same
as a 15-year-old young lady. I very quickly became introduced
to the cultural aspect of religion. The words “haram” —
meaning religiously prohibited — and “aib” — meaning
culturally inappropriate — were exchanged carelessly, as if they meant the same thing
and had the same consequences. And I found myself in conversation
after conversation with classmates and colleagues, professors,
friends, even relatives, beginning to question my own role
and my own aspirations. And even with the foundation
my parents had provided for me, I found myself questioning
the role of women in my faith. So at the Murabit School
of International Affairs, we go very heavy on the debate, and rule number one is do your research,
so that’s what I did, and it surprised me how easy it was to find women in my faith
who were leaders, who were innovative, who were strong — politically, economically,
even militarily. Khadija financed the Islamic movement in its infancy. We wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for her. So why weren’t we learning about her? Why weren’t we learning about these women? Why were women being relegated
to positions which predated the teachings of our faith? And why, if we are equal
in the eyes of God, are we not equal in the eyes of men? To me, it all came back to the lessons
I had learned as a child. The decision maker, the person
who gets to control the message, is sitting at the table, and unfortunately,
in every single world faith, they are not women. Religious institutions
are dominated by men and driven by male leadership, and they create policies
in their likeness, and until we can change
the system entirely, then we can’t realistically
expect to have full economic and political participation of women. Our foundation is broken. My mom actually says, you can’t build
a straight house on a crooked foundation. In 2011, the Libyan revolution broke out,
and my family was on the front lines. And there’s this amazing thing
that happens in war, a cultural shift almost, very temporary. And it was the first time that I felt
it was not only acceptable for me to be involved,
but it was encouraged. It was demanded. Myself and other women
had a seat at the table. We weren’t holding hands or a medium. We were part of decision making. We were information sharing.
We were crucial. And I wanted and needed
for that change to be permanent. Turns out, that’s not that easy. It only took a few weeks before the women
that I had previously worked with were returning back
to their previous roles, and most of them were driven
by words of encouragement from religious and political leaders, most of whom cited religious scripture
as their defense. It’s how they gained popular support
for their opinions. So initially, I focused on the economic
and political empowerment of women. I thought that would lead
to cultural and social change. It turns out, it does a little,
but not a lot. I decided to use
their defense as my offense, and I began to cite and highlight
Islamic scripture as well. In 2012 and 2013, my organization
led the single largest and most widespread
campaign in Libya. We entered homes and schools
and universities, even mosques. We spoke to 50,000 people directly, and hundreds of thousands more through
billboards and television commercials, radio commercials and posters. And you’re probably wondering how
a women’s rights organization was able to do this in communities
which had previously opposed our sheer existence. I used scripture. I used verses from the Quran
and sayings of the Prophet, Hadiths, his sayings which
are, for example, “The best of you is the best
to their family.” “Do not let your brother oppress another.” For the first time, Friday sermons
led by local community imams promoted the rights of women. They discussed taboo issues,
like domestic violence. Policies were changed. In certain communities,
we actually had to go as far as saying the International
Human Rights Declaration, which you opposed because it wasn’t
written by religious scholars, well, those same principles
are in our book. So really, the United Nations
just copied us. By changing the message,
we were able to provide an alternative narrative which promoted
the rights of women in Libya. It’s something that has now
been replicated internationally, and while I am not saying it’s easy —
believe me, it’s not. Liberals will say you’re using religion
and call you a bad conservative. Conservatives will call you
a lot of colorful things. I’ve heard everything from, “Your parents
must be extremely ashamed of you” — false; they’re my biggest fans — to “You will not make it
to your next birthday” — again wrong, because I did. And I remain a very strong believer that women’s rights
and religion are not mutually exclusive. But we have to be at the table. We have to stop giving up our position,
because by remaining silent, we allow for the continued persecution
and abuse of women worldwide. By saying that we’re going
to fight for women’s rights and fight extremism
with bombs and warfare, we completely cripple local societies
which need to address these issues so that they’re sustainable. It is not easy, challenging
distorted religious messaging. You will have your fair share
of insults and ridicule and threats. But we have to do it. We have no other option than to reclaim
the message of human rights, the principles of our faith, not for us, not for
the women in your families, not for the women in this room, not even for the women out there, but for societies
that would be transformed with the participation of women. And the only way we can do that, our only option, is to be, and remain, at the table. Thank you. (Applause)

    Hi.
I have a gift for you: Some essentials of humanity. Being human, and humane, in case anyone doesn’t know. To anyone who thinks that hurting people is good. Hope it helps you.
    Please, share this information
People need to know that God is light. Let’s look at our human behavior:

    DARK BEHAVIOR (not Godly)
Rape, beheading, cold-blooded murder, spousal abuse, torture, forced facial coverings, pedophilia, fgm, acid attack, burning, halal torture, war “jihad,"Sharia punishments, threats, false accusations, judgmental of others, disrespecting men, disrespecting women, disrespecting children, no consideration for others. Watching people suffer. This is dark. behavior.

    LIGHT BEHAVIOR (God is light)
Love, benevolence, compassion, serenity, light, forgiveness, generosity, honoring all.

    Fix Islam.
    Thanks. 🙂

Surely citing khadija is proof that women in PRE Islamic times had economic power?? Khadija was wealthy before Islam. So it is misleading to say that before Islam women had no rights and after Islam their lives suddenly got better.

    Sahih Muslim

    Book 008, Number 3424:

' A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Sahla bint Suhail came to Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) and said: Messenger of Allah, I see on the face of Abu Hudhaifa (signs of disgust) on entering of Salim (who is an ally) into (our house), whereupon Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) said: Suckle him. She said: How can I suckle him as he is a grown-up man? Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) smiled and said: I already know that he is a young man. 'Amr has made this addition in his narration that he participated in the Battle of Badr and in the narration of Ibn 'Umar (the words are): Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) laughed.

    Book 008, Number 3425:

'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Salim, the freed slave of Abu Hadhaifa, lived with him and his family in their house. She (i. e. the daughter of Suhail came to Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) and said: Salim has attained (puberty) as men attain, and he understands what they understand, and he enters our house freely, I, however, perceive that something (rankles) in the heart of Abu Hudhaifa, whereupon Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) said to her: Suckle him and you would become unlawful for him, and (the rankling) which Abu Hudhaifa feels in his heart will disappear. She returned and said: So I suckled him, and what (was there) in the heart of Abu Hudhaifa disappeared.

    Book 008, Number 3427:

Umm Salama said to 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her): A young boy who is at the threshold of puberty comes to you. I, however, do not like that he should come to me, whereupon 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) said: Don't you see in Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) a model for you? She also said: The wife of Abu Hudhaifa said: Messenger of Allah, Salim comes to me and now he is a (grown-up) person, and there is something that (rankles) in the mind of Abu Hudhaifa about him, whereupon Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: Suckle him (so that he may become your foster-child), and thus he may be able to come to you (freely).

    Book 008, Number 3428:

Zainab daughter of Abu Salama reported: I heard Umm Salama, the wife of Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon himy, saying to 'A'isha: By Allah, I do not like to be seen by a young boy who has passed the period of fosterage, whereupon she ('A'isha) said: Why is it so? Sahla daughter of Suhail came to Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) and said: Allah's Messenger, I swear by Allah that I see in the face of Abu Hudhaifa (the signs of disgust) on account of entering of Salim (in the house), whereupon Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: Suckle him. She (Sahla bint Suhail) said: He has a beard. But he (again) said: Suckle him, and it would remove what is there (expression of disgust) on the face of Abu Hudhaifa. She said: (I did that) and, by Allah, I did not see (any sign of disgust) on the face of Abu Hadhaifa.

    Imam Malik’s Muwatta

    Book 30, Number 30.1.8:

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi that Safiyya bint Abi Ubayd told him that Hafsa, umm al-muminin, sent Asim ibn Abdullah ibn Sad to her sister Fatima bint Umar ibn al-Khattab for her to suckle him ten times so that he could come in to see her. She did it, so he used to come in to see her.

    Book 30, Number 30.2.12:

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab that he was asked about the suckling of an older person. He said, ''Urwa ibn az-Zubayr informed me that Abu Hudhayfa ibn Utba ibn Rabia, one of the companions of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, who was present at Badr, adopted Salim (who is called Salim, the mawla of Abu Hudhayfa) as the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, adopted Zayd ibn Haritha. He thought of him as his son, and Abu Hudhayfa married him to his brother's sister, Fatima bint al-Walid ibn Utba ibn Rabia, who was at that time among the first emigrants. She was one of the best unmarried women of the Quraysh. When Allah the Exalted sent down in His Book what He sent down about Zayd ibn Haritha, 'Call them after their true fathers. That is more equitable in the sight of Allah. If you do not know who their fathers were then they are your brothers in the deen and your mawali,' (Sura 33 ayat 5) people in this position were traced back to their fathers. When the father was not known, they were traced to their mawla.

"Sahla bint Suhayl who was the wife of Abu Hudhayfa, and one of the tribe of Amr ibn Luayy, came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said, 'Messenger of Allah! We think of Salim as a son and he comes in to see me while I am uncovered. We only have one room, so what do you think about the situation?' The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, 'Give him five drinks of your milk and he will be mahram by it.' She then saw him as a foster son. A'isha umm al-muminin took that as a precedent for whatever men she wanted to be able to come to see her. She ordered her sister, Umm Kulthum bint Abi Bakr as-Siddiq and the daughters of her brother to give milk to whichever men she wanted to be able to come in to see her. The rest of the wives of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, refused to let anyone come in to them by such nursing. They said, 'No! By Allah! We think that what the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, ordered Sahla bint Suhayl to do was only an indulgence concerning the nursing of Salim alone. No! By Allah! No one will come in upon us by such nursing!'

"This is what the wives of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, thought about the suckling of an older person."

    Book 30, Number 30.2.13:

Yahya related to me from Malik that Abdullah ibn Dinar said, "A man came to Abdullah ibn Umar when I was with him at the place where judgments were given and asked him about the suckling of an older person. Abdullah ibn Umar replied, ‘A man came to Umar ibn al-Khattab and said, 'I have a slave-girl and I used to have intercourse with her. My wife went to her and suckled her. When I went to the girl, my wife told me to watch out, because she had suckled her!' Umar told him TO BEAT HIS WIFE and to go to his slave-girl because kinship by suckling was only by the suckling of the young.’"

    Book 30, Number 30.2.14:

Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya ibn Said that a man said to Abu Musa al-Ashari, "I drank some milk from my wife's breasts and it went into my stomach." Abu Musa said, "I can only but think that she is haram for you." Abdullah ibn Masud said, "Look at what opinion you are giving the man." Abu Musa said, "Then what do you say?" Abdullah ibn Masud said, "There is only kinship by suckling in the first two years."

Abu Musa said, "Do not ask me about anything while this learned man is among you."

    Let us summarize the data.

Muhammad commanded a married woman to nurse her husband’s adopted son, despite the fact that he had reached puberty.

Aisha took this to mean that she could nurse those men that she wanted to have access to.

Aisha advised her sister and nieces to do likewise so as to allow men to enter into them.

Muhammad’s wives spoke out against this practice, claiming that Muhammad commanded this for Sahla alone.

Others such as Umar and Ibn Masud stated that kinship is limited to the nursing of a child for the first two years. After that, the milk becomes only food for the child.

Umar commanded a man to beat his wife for nursing a slave girl with the intention of making that slave girl unlawful for her husband.

Whatever interpretation Aisha, Umar and Ibn Masud may have given to Muhammad's instruction later on (correctly or incorrectly), the fact that Muhammad would command a woman to nurse a young man is shameful and disgusting to say the least.

Keep in mind that military intelligence estimates that of the 1.8 billion Muslims worldwide, between 15-25% of them are potential jihadists, which means upwards of 350,000,000 of them are loose in and around civilization. When Muslim barbarism occurs – and it occurs every day – no Muslim – none – will step up to criticize or denounce them. The evidence is overwhelming. Therefore, every Muslim, EVERY Muslim, must be removed from every civil society, along with their donkeys and camels, and shipped to Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Yemen. Every single Muslim vestige – down to a Muslim pencil – must be removed. Otherwise, Jews, Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, atheists – non-Muslim, will be – must be according to the Quran (the Muslim manifesto) annihilated.

Khadija, the 15 years older wife of Mohammed, was a business woman (!), and Mohammed her employe❗️! She proposed marriage to him! For many years they went to some kind of a Catholic Church… This was long before he, they started Islam….❗️
When he had the "encounter" with "a spirit" he believed it to be evil…. Khadija convinced him it was from God❗️!
Dear Speaker…you have grown up in a christian country….that's why your way of thinking is marked "from freedom"….but please, look at the realties in Muslim country's ….(!!!) heard of Asia Bibi (Pakistan) recently? Heard of young Saudi women who risked there life to escape to Canada? (Because of the free press…in our christian country's they got attention in the public❗️….and now the Saudis had to react!
Please, look at reality in all Islamic country's ….otherwise you lie to yourselves and to others….
And…is it not that religion should answer the biggest question of our life❓ Why do we live and where do we go when we die….?
Means : Origin, meaning, morality, destiny❗️❓
Why follow a man who had to admit he had no assurance in death if God would accept him on the judgement day…???
We have to encourage one another not to seek religion but THE TRUTH….about our existence!
Look at the videos from Vishal Mangalwadi "Truth Matters"….

So, if that is the case, do you accept that you are intellectually deficient as the prophet said? Do you accept that your husband can beat you up, as the Quran says?; that man is superior to you? I can go on and on. And you are proud of this? A brainwashed zombie.

I believe in jesus as messenger as christ as prophet and do not believe in him as god because jesus not ordered me to believing in him as god even he never announce himself as god,but jesus will punish me for that work which he has never ordered me.
    Is this not devilism.
Jesus will punish for that work which has never ordered me by jesus.
If my master punish me for that work which was not ordered by master then is my master not devil.
Jesus never order me to believe in him as god but jesus will punish because i did not believe in him.as god.

So many people confuse Islam with the national culture of so-called Islamic countries. They are not the same. In the U.S. most people claim to be Christians. However, most of us fornicate. That does not mean that Christianity teaches this behavior. Most Christians have never read the Bible cover to cover. Most just listen to their preacher. Most Muslims have never read the Quran. Most don't even read Arabic and a lot are not even literate to read in any language. They just listen to their Imam. Religions are not the problem. The lack of knowledge, analysis and application is the problem.

A religion which dictates how a woman must dress, what you can eat and drink, and even the right way to enter a toilet (left foot first!!!), condones slavery, polygamy, killing non-believers….. is clearly not a religion in the Western sense……. total control and obligation reek of fascism by any definition. To seriously believe men could become uncontrolably aroused sexually by the sight of women's hair or arms is so ludicrous it insults the whole concept of a wise God. Conservative muslims continue to flock into Western secular countries where their beliefs are anathema to Western values….why this mass hypocrisy? What's so wrong with staying in a country that shares your values? What does the Koran say about imposing your opinions on those who don't want them ??? What does the Koran say about not respecting the culture of your host country by e.g. refusing to shake hands…..etc.?

    Thank God for agnostics !!!

The second Caliph of Islam] Omar ibn Al-Khattab said, “There were two things in the pre-Islamic era, one of them makes me cry and the other one makes me laugh. The one that makes me cry; I had taken a daughter of mine to bury her alive and I was digging the hole for her while she was dusting my beard off without knowing what I am planning for her, when I remember that, I cry. And the other one is that I used to make a God of dates that I put over my head to guard me during the night, then when I woke up I would eat it, and whenever I remember that I laugh at myself” (Muhammad al-Amin al-Shinqiti, Adhwa’ul Bayan, Beirut, Lebanon, 1995, Vol. 9, p. 63).

Arabs used to dig a hole under the pregnant woman whenever she experienced labor, in order that the child will be placed into it when delivered. If he was a boy they would take him out of it and if she was a girl then they would leave it and they would dump soil over her body till she dies, and that Omar Ibn Al-Khattab testified to the Prophet Mohammad, saying “O Messenger of Allah, I have committed female infanticide during the pre-Islamic era” (Al-Haythami, Majmau’ al-Zawa’id wa Manba’ al-Fawa’id, 1994, Vol. 7, p. 204, Hadith 11469; Al-Mawardi, Al-Hawi Al-Kabir [The Comprehensive Book[, 1994, Vol. 13, p. 67) .

What a load of crap! Look at every "culture" where women ARE given the opportunity to co-govern…..it goes very badly. Example: modern day Holland, Belgium, Sweden. The strongest woman I've ever known was my Mum, who never thought she needed to stand next to a man to prove anything or change anything. She used to say: "Women think throwing themselves around like candy at a parade will change the world for the better….it only shallows the depth that a woman's character needs to have when her son, her husband or the men in leadership of her community – drop the ball." Men and Women will never be equal and only a woman ( a clear-headed, humble-humble-humble woman ) can be all she is made ( or "re-made" ) to be when she knows her station. That 'station' is not pushing men aside, or being subordinate to any man. Rather strengthening men in her life with those virtues that make her so precious, deserving of more respect and admiration – her humility to accept what she cannot change and her faith in Truth to do what is right for her, without putting down what / who seems like is in her way. This madness is what is killing every autonomous, Western-European society right now…..the idea that fiscal, political, religious and cultural decisions can be made by women who adopt the minds of men, and men who are afraid of women.

A woman's 'station' is always to be where her passion lies. 8 out of 10 times that is her family, her husband, her children and her community. The other 2? Well you're seeing what they can do. Look at Sweden, Holland and yes – Germany! Listen to what real women of conservative convictions say about feminism there! That is, if all the recorded words have not yet been deleted or erased from history.

FYI: Mum was a staunch conservative but she didn't believe in "religion" or the "God" that her dissapointing Christian influences tried to sell her on. Virtue and Respect is not like a magazine subscription, or an order form at a Tupperware party. It is taught, yes, but it is "accepted and maintained" by the intrinsic values of modesty and humility.

That…….is what makes a woman of real strength "stand-out", and she will be listened to, surrounded by protection and provision despite her "religion", even if it's a nutter like Islam.

Oops! Did I offend someone? Too bad. Go eat some more cake and write to your Imam. I don't care!

" As for those [wives] whose misconduct you fear, [first] advise them, and [if ineffective] keep away from them in the bed, and [as the last resort] beat them. Then if they obey you, do not seek any course [of action] against them. Indeed, Allah is all-exalted, all-great."
    Verse 4:34 of the Quran

There many more like these in your so called religion of peace, i am sure you would know, btw I didn't saw any of them in your speech!! Duhhhh you must have missed it!! 😏

Sin is pre-existing in all. Sin pre-dates The Bible. The Bible explains origins of sin. The Bible provides remedy for sin through Jesus Christ. The Bible is best selling book in the world for this reason.

    Sin is the opium.

In The Bible we know Who made the world, who marred it, who ransacked it, and Who restored it.

Media, Police, Defense, Judiciary, Penitentiary, Security, Contracts confirm sin exists.

God created universe, natural laws, made man in His image, gave talents, instructed man to explore and multiply. We are made good with good purpose. We are good. Then sin entered and we fallen. Disease, despair, death entered. Sin plays spoilsport.

Unloose the Soul from the tight knot of sin. Soul outlasts death.

Religion says "Do". Jesus Christ says "Done".

Sinners cannot save themselves from sin. Jesus Christ, the Holy God, intervened to save us from sin.

Jesus Christ came from heaven (The First Christmas), died willingly for our sins on The Cross (The First Good Friday), and resurrected death (The Resurrection Day, also linked to Easter). Jesus Christ lived a Holy life, while on earth.

Unable to find any motive for Jesus Christ to die willingly on Cross and resurrect – except His love to save us from pre-existing sin.

Salvation from sin is free gift of God in Jesus Christ. Salvation is not earned through works or deeds or pilgrimages or rituals or ceremonies or traditions or cultures or public displays or making sacrifices.

Believe, repent of sins and accept Jesus Christ, and be saved. Simple. Nothing to lose, everything to gain.

    it's simple.
The Qur'an says Islam is "Din al-Haq" which means "Religion of Truth" while Jewish and Christian religions are "Din Battel" which means canceled religions.
According to the Quran, Jews and Christians are allowed to live under the wings of Islam in their current religion as long as they pay the "jizya" which is a skull tax as long as they are humiliated (Quran Sura 9).
Jordan, for example, held the West Bank and East Jerusalem from 1948-1969 until we released it. Why didn't Jordan establish a Palestinian state?
Why didn't the Arab world and European countries press Jordan to do what they demand of us today?
Never, even one day in history, has an Arab or Islamic king ruled from Jerusalem, neither Khalif nor Sultan nor Prince Nada.
Even the greatest Islamic historian of all Ibn Ta'imia has ruled that Jerusalem is no more sacred than any other city.
So why the conflict over Jerusalem?
Any Muslim who will sign with his own hands that he agrees to a Jewish state for even one inch on the beech of tel-aviv is acting against Islam.
Because if Islam came into the world to replace the religions that preceded it – Judaism and Christianity, and Judaism would come back, what would happen to Islam? So what happend? In 1948- the first historical accident: Those Jews whose religion was abolished establish a state.
In 1967 a second accident: they liberate Jerusalem.
What would be the next step?
They will build the Third Temple and then Judaism will come back to be a living religion, a kicking and breathing religion. Then the clowns of the city will rise again, and say that the whole Qur'an is nothing more than "Assatir al-Avalin" and have no theological tools to contain this thing. After all, Muhammad was accused by his tribe of his early days in Mecca, that all the stories he tells them about Adam and Eve, and Noah and the Flood, and the Exodus and Jesus and John are "Astir to Evelyn" – the first stories. This accusation "Astir al-Evelyn" appears in the Koran 11 times!!
What does not appear in the Qur'an is Jerusalem, not even every one of the four names it has in Arabic:
    Ilya Capitoline
    Al Quds
    Beit El McDes
    Orshalam.
Muslims claim that Jerusalem is Al-Aqsa "the far-off mosque" according to verse 1 of the Koran in Chapter 17.
A quick search on Google Maps will reveal a city in the Arabian Peninsula between Mecca and Taif called Gaurana.
According to Islamic sources, the villagers built two mosques.
One is close to the village, so they called it "Al Masjid Al Adna" (the nearby mosque).
The other was beyond the Wadi and so they called it "Al Masjid Al Aqsa" (the far-off mosque).
Jerusalem began to be A place of worship for Muslims only since 682 due to the rebellion of Abdullah Ibn Azubier who did not let Muslims from our region here – Syria, Lebanon, Israel to reach Mecca for Hajj.
About 10 years after they were denied entry to Mecca, the Muslims had no choice but to take Jerusalem that was under their control as an alternative place to Hajj.
Learn the history gentlemen before coming to the wrong conclusions.
All this information is available online so you don't have to believe me.
And one more thing before I finish:
We have survived thousands of years of persecution, murder and holocaust that wiped out a third of our people, conquered back our homeland while defeating all the surrounding Arab armies, established a democratic state in a region were democracy is considered a blasphemous, and Israel is today a high-tech and agriculture empire Where the ratio of Nobel Prize winners is one hundred times that of any other country. We have a woman who heads the Supreme Court and Arabs sit in Parliament.
How did we survive? How did we achieve all this?
Maybe, but only maybe, we really are the chosen people ..

In Pakistan, a father can legally forgive his son if he kills his sister over family honour. It is funny how on one hand the Saudi Prince has 22 wives yet honour killings are legal in his country. How come the Saudi Prince wasn't stoned to death for having 22 wives?
