Megazyme’s New Website (Oct 2019)

This video will take you through the new Megazyme website. After two years of research and development, the new website will be going live on the 15th of October, 2019. The website features
full mobile optimisation for ease of use on-the-go; an improved search function with dynamic filtering
of results; and a new product comparison feature. Let’s start by exploring the new-look homepage.
In the new layout, quick links are provided to Assay Kits, Enzymes, Documents, and Product
FAQs. There are also featured products, and some links to some of our most important content
areas and features, including the Product Finder, which we’ll go through a bit later.
In order to find a product, you can use the Shop All Products tab in the navigation bar,
which is unchanged from our previous product navigation. We also have two new content areas
– Industries Served and Focus Areas as well as the Technical Support section, all
of which we’ll go through later. Now we’re going to look at how to actually
find a product on the new website. Our new dynamic product search allows you to type
in a keyword, and a dropdown menu will appear with suggestions based on the keywords input.
For a full list of results, click on the search button. The results page can be filtered down further using the checkboxes on the left; you can
narrow it down by product category, analyte measured, or by assay format – that is,
the type of analyser being used to carry out the assay. Now, we’re using the Compare feature to look at which of these three products is the
most suitable for our needs. After adding each product to the compare list, we can show the product comparison; this will show, side-by-side, product information including the reaction type, the reaction time, method recognition, pack size content
and storage conditions. Another way to find a product is by using the Product Finder, which is
available on the homepage. Click on the Product Finder to begin. In the dropdown menu, choose which analyte
you want to measure or which enzyme activity you’d like to measure, and click “Search now”. This will bring us to a list of
assay kits which are suitable for use in measuring that particular analyte. The product page has a video protocol for the product, which can be accessed and viewed within the
browser window by clicking on the thumbnail. Links to useful documentation,
including the Data Booklet, SDS, Mega-Calc, Certificates of Analysis and FAQs, can all
be accessed via the green buttons. Useful product information is displayed at-a-glance
including the assay principle. Certificates of Analysis are available filed
based on lot number, and we also have Safety Data Sheets in a range of languages and formats. Related products and similar products are displayed, along with a list of publications from authors who have used this product in their
peer-reviewed research. The website also contains a Technical Support section. The most comprehensive resource in
the Technical Support section is our Knowledge Base, which brings together documentation
and FAQs to assist in the use and application
of Megazyme products. This is the quickest
way to troubleshoot technical issues. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, use the “Ask A Scientist” submission form to contact the experts at Megazyme and receive a quick response. Finally, we’re going to take a look at the
content sections on the new website. First is the Industries Served section. We’ve highlighted ten key industries, in this case, we’re going to look at
Malting, Brewing and Distilling and each industry page gathers
together useful information including quick links to key products of interest
which are sorted by main analytes, white papers and industry insights, and also recent research relevant to the field. Next, we’ll have a look at our Focus Areas,
including our Dietary Fiber portal. As the global leaders in Dietary Fiber measurement, we’ve brought together lots of information
about dietary fiber regulations, including current analytical methodology,
impacts on human health, and regulatory environments in various territories. This information will be kept up to date going forward. We hope this has been a useful introduction
to the new Megazyme website. If you have any questions or feedback,
