Welcome to UWB IT’s Kentico video tutorials. These videos are designed to help you understand the basics of Kentico and get you on your way to creating your own web pages on the UW Bothell website. In this video we’ll go over the basics on how to insert, edit, and remove hyperlinks. Hyperlinks can be used on text or images to link to other websites, link to other documents on the UW Bothell website, or link to an e-mail address. To insert a hyperlink, select the text or image you want to contain the hyperlink. Then, click the “Insert/Edit link” icon. To link to other documents on the UW Bothell website, select the “Content” tab. You will see a navigation tree listing all of the parent documents under the UW Bothell website. . Use this tree to navigate to and select the document to want to link. To link to another website, select the “Web” tab. Then, select the protocol from the drop down menu. Then, enter the destination URL. To link to an e-mail address, select the “E-mail” tab. When this type of hyperlink is opened by the user, the user’s default e-mail client will open a new e-mail window. As you can see here, you can preset what is automatically entered into the user’s e-mail client when the hyperlink is clicked. Once finished, select “Insert.” To remove any hyperlink, right click on the hyperlink and select “Unlink.” This concludes our video tutorial on hyperlinks. Thank you for watching.
