Crown agencies urged to review website security following data breaches


The Government’s Chief Digital
Officer is calling for all Crown agencies to review
its website security following multiple data breaches
this year. The Commerce Commission, Treasury, Culture and Heritage, and Health Ministries have all been
stung with a data security breach. The Government’s Chief Digital
Officer Paul James’ requesting Crown agencies to assess
their website security. If found that digital safety
isn’t up to scratch, his message is to fix it. The leaking of teenagers’
personal details from a Tuia event signup site
was another embarrassing breach.
