#5) The “Hyperlink” Principle (The ABC’s of Bible Prophecy Series)

hello again everybody welcome back to
allprophecyfulfilled.com on the world wide web on facebook all prophecy
fulfilled and on youtube let’s not forget you too same name all prophecy
fulfilled you can go there subscribe to my channel and you can receive these
directly to you as their produce how convenient is that huh what a day and
age we live in okay we are in the middle of a series than on call of the ABCs of
Bible prophecy where I’m number five probably got it all three more to go up
to this point you might be thinking you know there’s really nothing new Under
the Sun in fact what you’re saying here right isn’t it controversial it’s
nothing that I don’t think any Bible student wouldn’t agree with so I don’t
know how these things really would lead to a fulfilled perspective so what’s the
point I would agree with that to a point i think where the rub is or where the
divergence will come is it comes in the consistent application or use of the
principles that i’m going to lay out because we’re not done yet when this
whole thing is said done i’m going to hope to have six seven eight
foundational principles and i think really that’s the key is are we
utilizing all of these principles consistently and that’s really what i’m
getting that okay let’s carry on up to this point i have basically made out of
say two points number one very important foundational is that we connected the
death in a demurrer of adam with the law because paul did we saw that the death
had originated with Adam the garden it was eventually placed
under Torah under the law ok what does I have to do with anything well it was
that death it was that death the death that had to be overcome and that was the
goal of redemptive history that’s what everything was aiming at to overcome the
death to swallow up death in victory okay the second thing we we look at I
laid out basically two principles the Paul first of all and the Peter
Principle the Paul principle essentially basically said that she can go back and
look at these two videos but essentially basically said this the New Testament
writers the apostles they taught nothing and I mean nothing new only God which
was really foretold and taught by the long line of Old Testament prophets
before them okay so no new separate future promises to the church it was
really you know no two people of God anything like that it was simply the
fulfillment the hope of Old Testament Israel which would then usher in the new
covenant kingdom okay the peanut principle was basically this that the
Old Testament prophets did not know the exact time or the exact nature of the
things which they spoke of except they knew it wasn’t for their time and these
things are very very important why are they important well because i think it
establishes the fact that the the principles that or it i think it
establishes the principle that we today we must allow the New Testament writers
the right to interpret the old script testament scriptures for us so however
they interpret say Isaiah’s new heavens and in earth or how they see Ezekiel’s
new covenant or zeikos new covenant temple or whatever their concept of
resurrection is from Hosea or Isaiah or whatever time frame they actually place
the last day of vinson well you know what
have to understand where they got their message and where they got their
teaching and then we have to trust that they’re the new testament writers their
divinely-inspired views are exactly that Holy Spirit inspired commentary on the
Old Testament itself okay so that being said I am going to lay down another I’m
gonna call in principle but it basically dovetails off of this it’s very closely
related and I call it I’m just going to call it for this for the sake of this
video the Old Testament hyperlink principle or maybe he’s going to call it
the hyper leak link principle now I wrote a very small article on this I put
it on Facebook about a week ago and I was inspired by by Rob my friend rod
MacArthur he really opened my eyes to this particular again I’ll call it a
principle so check out all crossing who feel calm go to my blogs and you’ll see
an article there and it’s called I think it’s called the Oh of the spiritual
hyperlink click here for truth so look for that okay so we all know what a link
is or a hyperlink is on an Internet right here so you’re on the computer and
you’re on the website and there’s a button and you know the button is is
associated with orsett a ch2 a link now either you know the buttons labeled or
it’ll say you know click here or something like that right so that button
when it’s clicked it’s actually going to take you to another website or another
document or something right like that so the point is that the purpose of
clicking on a hyperlink is essentially to get to another place right okay the
New Testament contains hundreds of hyperlinks that is Old Testament
citations specifically they’re meant to take the reader back to the Old
Testament Scriptures why well it’s because I’m glad you asked it’s because
the those old test Smith Scriptures speak directly to the
subject matter that the New Testament writer is addressing so it’s as if the
New Testament writer is telling this audience hey click here for further and
complete spiritual understanding on this matter sometimes I will call these
spiritual hyperlinks but or old testament hyperlinks whatever you prefer
so the the New Testament writers are backing up their teaching by using the
prophets teach and saying hey you see here this is what Isaiah was describing
and it’s coming into fulfillment in our day so one fact i think is critical for
understanding the impact of this so when a New Testament writer cited Old
Testament scripture he was basically bringing to his audiences mind the
entire context of the old pet Old Testament passage being cited okay so he
was transporting the entire context and his teaching into his own writing in the
subject matter at hand okay so that’s really important though let’s take for
example first Corinthians 15 probably the most famous resurrection passage so
often assumed to be a physical body of a corpse coming out of the grave type of
resurrection okay well when Paul sites Isaiah 25 8 and Hosea 13 14 in this very
famous resurrection passage or chapter say the death is swallowed up in victory
and that kind of thing now if we’re going to understand the death that has
swallowed up in victory and if we’re going to know what Paul meant we need to
know what death Isaiah had in mind and we need to know when Isaiah said that
would happen why well because those old testament scriptures that paul sites
they were the subject matter at hand in the new testament discussion and they
were coming to fulfillment in his day and sometimes these are Old Testament
hyperlinks if you will they don’t really come in the form of a
direct citation but a reference to the Old Testament Scriptures for example
again first Corinthians chapter 15 it’s interesting that Paul begins his entire
discussion here at the very beginning he says this for I delivered to you first
of all that which I also received that Christ died for our sins according to
the scriptures and that he was buried and that he rose again the third day
according to the scriptures now think about that Paul says that Christ rose
the third day according to the scriptures he doesn’t give a direct
citation but you know I know that there must be a reference in the Old Testament
that verifies a third day resurrection do you know what that is do you know
where that is that’s a great question isn’t it I’ll tell you right now it’s on
Hosea chapter 6 in fact I wrote a little article it’s called are you physical
izing the Bible of all prophecy fulfilled calm it’s in my in my blog
there and that deals with Hosea chapter 6 a little bit so you can take a look at
that okay so here’s what I’m getting at how many times have we quickly brushed
aside the the almost countless number of Old Testament hyperlinks in the New
Testament without clicking on them and simply because we assume that we can
understand the passage without the help of the Old Testament but that’s why Paul
put him there so that those would help us understand what he was talking about
okay we will never and I mean never we will never grasp I think to fall and the
correct in the very often spiritual nature of Biblical prophecy if we refuse
to click on these Old Testament hyperlinks okay that are provided
workforce by the New Testament writers look
if you have been taught a futurist new of eschatology or end times or a baby
you’ve just assumed one I don’t know that the last days are just around the
corner or maybe they’re here now I wonder how many clicks were made on
those old testament hyperlinks by those who taught you such things or maybe just
by you yourself do you take seriously and I think you should do you take
seriously the very often spiritual application and interpretation that the
New Testament writers ascribe to the mini Old Testament citations so what I’m
really just getting out here folks this look we need to learn to hypertext if
you will as my my friend rod MacArthur would say we really need if we’re going
to know when Bible prophecy is telling us if we really want to understand what
the New Testament writers are telling us we’re going to have to roll up our
sleeves a little bit and do some high Old Testament hyper texting it’s a very
very important valuable essential principle for bible prophecy I hope you
enjoyed that I hope that might have been somewhat intriguing to you I invite you
to check out those articles on my my website and we will see you next time
thanks for tuning in I really do appreciate it so long you

    Rethinking Revelation

Your connection with Hosea 6 is a good one, but not the only one. And this is why I think Paul said according to the Scriptures, plural. Symbiotically speaking, three is half of seven. In the ritual washingsfor cleansing a Leffer he was washed on the third and the seventh day. And so three is still anticipating a second and more fully filled out completion. The third day motif is a preliminary resurrection which anticipates the seventh day as well.
